Foundation for the Fine Arts 2011 Scholarship Information
The Foundation for the Fine Arts is sponsoring a scholarship program available to seniors who meet the following requirements:
- Student/Family must be members of the FFA
- Student must have been a CHS student for 3 years
- Student must be a graduating senior
- Student must have a minimum grade point average of 85%
- Student must have participated in a Fine Arts Discipline for at least 2 years
- Student must be of have been enrolled in a Fine Arts class at CHS during school year 2010-2011
- Student must have recommendation from a Fine Arts Teacher
- Student must submit a minimum 250-word to maximum 500-word essay on the following topic: Describe your goals, your field of study and why you are applying for this scholarship
- Proof of college or secondary school admission must be provided for funds to be disbursed
Each student will be selected based on their academic performance, Fine Arts achievements, essay, and other extra curricular activities at the school and in the local community. Please note: In the event of applications with similar qualifications, the essay will be the deciding factor.
Selection Process
- Each student wishing to apply must complete the application. To download the application, scholarship information and membership form, click here. Application deadline: April 22, 2011 at 3:40 pm.
- The Scholarship
Committee will review the applications and select the recipients based on
their academic performance, Fine Arts achievements, essay and
extracurricular activities.
- The students selected
to be recipients will be recognized at the annual Honors Night in the
spring.
- Applications must be submitted by April 22, 2011 at 3:40 pm. Completed applications and supporting documents may be e-mailed to Mr. Campbell at campbellk1@fultonschools.org or place completed application and all supporting documents in an envelope. The envelope should be addressed to Mr. Campbell and labeled “2011 FFA Scholarship Application” and turned into the front office no later than 3:40 on April 22, 2011.
Scholarship Amount
The FFA will award five senior scholarships in the amount of $500 each.
Scholarship Committee
The Scholarship Committee will consist of two Assistant Principals, one
being the AP over the Fine Arts department and three FFA Board members.
The committee may consist of 3-5 total members.
